Vedic medicine, considered one of the oldest systems of medicine in the world, was developed in India during the period 2000-1000 B.C. Ayurveda being a Science of Life, is advised exclusively for the welfare of the ailing humanity.

Shri Narayan Prasad Awasthi Government Ayurved College, Raipur (Chhattisgarh) which has been started with a vision to be an institute of excellence for erudition of Ayurveda, and to sculpture skilful and knowledgeable physicians and to achieve holistic health in the community. It was established in the year 1949 with the help of Late Shri Narayan Prasad Awasthi and Late Shri Khudadad Dungaji and is located on the G.E. Road, Raipur and functioning in aesthetically designed building.

Since its inception the college has developed an environment where the original Ayurvedic therapies are administered in contemporary infrastructural facilities. Presently the institute and hospital are spread in 89.3 Acres of land under two major establishments i.e. Shri Narayan Prasad Avasthi Govt. Ayurved College and Shri Khudadad Dungaji Govt. Ayurved College Hospital. Our strength lies in a team of highly qualified and experienced faculty, ably supported by an equally dedicated staff. Many of the students have been absorbed into the state and central government services as this institution is of a high repute. This is taking the college to new heights and putting it on the country map.
